Cottage Hospital & Memorial Hospital

The town's medical needs throughout the years have also changed. During the early 1920's, house calls became less necessary. In 1923, the Cottage Hospital was opened to better serve Inverness and the surrounding area. In 1929, an addition to this hospital was made but sadly, in 1939, a fire destroyed this structure. In the same year, The Memorial opened on the same site in memory of those that served in the Great War. Also at this time, St. Mary's Hospital served Inverness, beginning in 1925. In 1977, the town constructed a new hospital, Inverness Consolidated Memorial connected to the Memorial. Today in 1999, the Inverness Consolidated/Memorial and the Cottage Hospital (Mental Health and offices) continue to operate.
